My inspiration

My journey with coffee is deeply personal, rooted in cherished memories of my dad, a pilot whose travels always left him smelling like coffee. Those moments ignited a passion within me, not just for the aroma of coffee but for the stories and livelihoods behind each cup. Growing up, I've been fortunate to have opportunities to explore different parts of the world. However, I've also witnessed the hardships faced by many in my home country, Mexico.  I felt a deep-seated desire to utilize my skills and privileges to effect positive change for the community in which I have my roots. 

Entering the World of Coffee

Early on, I partnered with a person in the Mexican coffee industry who played a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of Café Cielo de Oro. Together, we navigated the complexities of the coffee business and confronted the harsh realities of poverty in Chiapas. His insights and experiences opened my eyes to the challenges faced by coffee producers, fueling my determination to create positive change.


Overcoming Challenges for Quality and Fairness

One of the key hurdles I encountered was ensuring consistent coffee quality. Many coffee producers in Mexico are unfamiliar with the rigorous standards required for specialty coffee exported to Europe. They may lack insight into the selection process, identifying defects, and proper packaging techniques. Additionally, logistical know-how is often limited among them, especially for those who have never exported before. Given the sizable domestic market in Mexico, exporting may not have seemed essential to them until now.


The Mission: Bringing Back the Glory of Mexican Coffee

At Café Cielo de Oro, our mission is twofold: to give back to our community in the most efficient way possible and to bring Mexican coffee back to its rightful place on the global stage. We believe that sustainable growth is the key to ensuring a brighter future for everyone involved, from the farmers to our clients and beyond.
